In the realm of Computer Graphics, 3D rendering based on the theorem of physics means it is precise, realistic, has volume and order. But In this project, I try to exhibit the opposite characteristics of computer rendered image: Low definition, lots of image noise, flat and full of uncertainty. To this end, I chose traditional Chinese landscape painting as my topic, unlike western oil painting that strive to replicate the reality, traditional Chinese landscape painting does not try to illustrate absolute reality, by disregarding the exact illustration of light and shadow as well as the sense of perspective, they focused on recreating the soul and conception of the landscape. This coincide well with my intension of creating unreal but expressive image by using image rendering engine.

The image noise, which people has been actively avoiding during image rendering, is the main element of my work, this is my attempt to get disordered, chaotic yet stunning result from precise computer algorithm.

在CG世界中,基于物理规则的3D渲染往往意味着精确、真实、体积感和秩序感。但在这个项目中,我希望探索如何借由渲染引擎产出与以往渲染图像截然相反的风格属性:低保真、噪点、平面和不确定感。因此我采用了中国传统山水画作为创作的主题。因为相较于忠于现实的西方古典绘画,中国山水画不追求画面的物理真实, 抛弃对光影的 准确描述以及空间的透视法则,着重表现画面的意境,这正好与我想通过渲染引擎获得非真实却富有感染力的画面的想法不谋而合。

另外我通过“噪点”——这个人们在进行渲染时着力避免的产物——来组成画面,也是想 尝试从物理定律般精确的渲染算法中获得无序、混乱但美丽的结果 。
