Inorganic Flowers
This work, “Inorganic Flowers", is the artist Gao Yang's interpretation of "contradiction".
This is not necessarily a "dichotomy" in the Western context, but rather a dialectical idea of "merging two into one" that inherited from traditional Chinese philosophy. “Inorganic Flowers" appears to have a very regular shape and metallic texture. These flowers linked to each other by a simple mechanical structure, all of which are characteristics of their inorganic and industrial nature. However, the “Inorganic Flowers" at the same time display an organic property that follows the laws of nature, and in the seemingly eternal movement of blooming and withering, ”Inorganic Flowers” illustrates a oriental sense of beauty that evolves from the concept of "all things being one".
